Business activity remains high and positive, but as manufacturers, we continue to face challenges from ever-changing rules, regulations, and interpretations of existing compliance standards. This session will provide you with a great overview of the current state of the regulations that we need to deal with, and takes a look at issues that may be just coming into focus in this New Year. In addition to changes in OSHA’s Injury and Illness Reporting, we’ll be looking at EPA –TRI- Stormwater as well as the latest in Dodd Frank Conflict Minerals and take a peek at the latest agency regulatory agendas. Also lessons learned from recent member citations with OSHA.

Miles Free is PMPA’s Director of Industry Research and Technology and has added government affairs and regulatory to his responsibilities at PMPA. His formal safety training studies started at US Steel as a supervisor, but were built upon his years of experience in the labor gang of the steel mills in Warren, Youngstown, and Lorain. He has provided formal testimony as well as had private meetings with the directors of OSHA and EPA at the federal level. He has also helped select court cases on several issues for PMPA support to maintain the rights of our small businesses against the ever increasing burden of new and hostile regulations.
