The Indiana/Southern Ohio Chapter invites you to attend this highly interactive event at PMPA member company Clippard Instrument Laboratory, Inc. The event begins with a tour of Clippard where attendees will see a highly motivated team of experts eager to demonstrate the pride of workmanship that this company embodies. From machining through assembly – you’ll be certain to learn much just by walking through this professional environment.

Bill Orris and Dale Reliford from Sandvik Coromant will then offer a quick hitting/content rich discussion on two unique topics.

Face-Milling
Face milling is the most common milling operation and can be performed using a wide range of different tools. Cutters with a 45º lead angle are most frequently used, but round insert cutters, square shoulder cutters and side and face mills are also used for certain conditions. The technical focus of this meeting reviews a list of applications and process checklists, including machine tool stability, spindle size and type, and available power. The discussion will give you a solid background, offer an overview of face milling cutters, and provide a list of hints and best practices for your consideration.

The Internet of Things
Manufacturing companies have traditionally been slow to react to the advent of digital technologies like intelligent robots, drones, sensor technology, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, and 3D printing. Industry 4.0 could change manufacturing. Industry 4.0 represents the vision of the interconnected factory where all equipment is online, and in some way, is also intelligent and capable of making its own decisions. This discussion will provide an overview of the Internet of Things and share ideas on how your company could maximize the use of this ever-evolving technology.

Bring as many people from your company that you like – Just identify names in the form below!
