Here are just a few examples from my experience with PMPA, including committee involvement and National Technical Conference participation:
1. 700+, and counting, machine/man hours saved, at $90/hr., resulting from a 10-minute discussion I had with someone willing to share ideas.   That’s $63,000 saved, the trip there and back cost $1,575 in total. That’s 40X payback, there was no struggle to find an ROI on this trip.
2. I was asked to send pictures of used carbide for a session. This prompted an examination of our carbide failure modes, guess what happened to our tooling costs there after? ......
