Precision Machining Career and Training Resources

Tuesday December 18, 2012
One of the goals of PMPA's Strategic Plan is to "promote industry opportunities, training initiatives and career paths."  PMPA now offers a comprehensive database identifying training opportunities for the precision machining industry.  The database identifies those schools with NIMS credentials, those who have "Right Skills Now" programs, and PMPA affiliate members.

Employers can utilize the database as a means to establish relationships with schools and identify/locate accredited programming by state.  Links to Manufacturers Extension Partnership (MEP) by state is also listed.  (MEPs provide companies with services and access to public and private resources.)

Career jobseekers can search for training opportunities by state/province for schools in their area.  There are online schools listed in the database, however we recommend the prospective student first search for a school that offers hands-on training with the technology that would be used on-the-job.

PMPA will be updating and keeping the database current.  If you are aware of a school program that should be included in the database, please contact Monte Guitar, PMPA Technical Programs Director at
