Paul Akers - FastCap

Paul Akers is the founder and president of FastCap, a product development company specializing in woodworking tools and hardware for the professional builder. Paul Akers has taken his manufacturing business from the garage to worldwide distribution in 20 years by pursuing one goal

FastCap, with a product catalog of over 600 woodworking tools, now has 2,400 distributors in 40 countries. He credits the astounding business growth to a fun, dynamic culture in which each of the employees puts into practice at least one two-second improvement per day.  He developed the culture by hiring the right people, relentlessly teaching and reinforcing the eight wastes, and empowering people to experiment.

Admiral Ron Boxall

Vice Admiral Ronald Boxall is a native of Holland Patent, New York. He attended The Pennsylvania State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Science and was commissioned in 1984. He also attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, where he earned a Master of Science in Information Systems and later attended the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, earning a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies.

Boxall’s sea duty assignments include: commander, Carrier Strike Group 3 embarked on USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74); command of USS Lake Erie (CG 70) and USS Carney (DDG 64); executive officer of USS Hue City (CG 66); combat systems officer on USS Simpson (FFG 56) and USS Ramage (DDG 61); and division officer on USS Merrill (DD 976) and USS Kinkaid (DD 965). During his seagoing career, he has made numerous deployments around the world from the Western Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans to the Baltic, Mediterranean and Caribbean Seas as well as combat operations in the Arabian Gulf and counter-narcotics operations off South America. A former Pacific Fleet Shiphandler of the Year, he was also fortunate to have been associated with four outstanding Battle “E” winning crews.

Ashore he served in numerous joint and staff billets to include: deputy director for Joint Strategic Planning (J-5) and deputy and chief of the Joint Staff Quadrennial Defense Review Office (J-8) on the Joint Staff, where he was selected as Action Officer of the Year; director and deputy director for Surface Warfare (N96), executive assistant to the deputy chief of naval operations for Integration of Capabilities and Resources (N8), and executive assistant to the director of Navy Warfare Integration (N8F) on the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) staff; and placement officer and deputy Surface Officer Distribution Division (PERS-41B) at Naval Personnel Command.

He is currently serving as the director for Force Structure, Resources and Assessment (J8) on the Joint Staff.

Boxall’s military awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, as well as various campaign and unit awards. Additionally, he was a recipient of the 2016 Penn State Eberly College of Science Outstanding Alumni Award.

One of the country’s most informed economists, Brian Beaulieu has served as CEO of ITR Economics™ since 1987 where he researches the use of business cycle analysis and economic forecasts to increase profitability. Brian has been providing workshops and economic analysis seminars in seven countries to thousands of business owners and executives for the last 35 years. During that period he has also been consulting with companies who need a domestic and global perspective on how to forecast, plan, and increase their profits based on business cycle trend analysis.

He is co-author of Prosperity in the Age of Decline, a powerful look at how to make the most of the US and global trends over the next 20 years. Brian also co-authored Make Your Move, a practical and insightful guide on increasing profits through business cycle changes, and noted by one reviewer as "simple, yet awesome."

Brian is on the Board of Directors of the Ariens Company, a global leading manufacturer of outdoor power equipment, and a member of the Investment Committee for NorthStar Financial Services, CLS Investments in Omaha, Nebraska.

Melanie Webber, elected as a partner of Millisor & Nobil in 2007, chairs the firm’s Human Resources practice group and counsels employers on a wide array of employment law and labor issues. Melanie provides consulting to employers in formulating positive, pro-active, employment relations programs including employee attitude assessments, employment practice audits, and supervisory training. She also assists employers with preventive, internal human resource practice and wage-hour audits. Melanie frequently lectures on a variety of employment law issues including the Family and Medical Leave Act,
the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, sexual harassment and maintaining union-free status. As an active member of the firm’s traditional labor group, Melanie has also handled numerous successful efforts to defeat union organizing campaigns for our clients. Melanie also manages the firm’s opinion surveys, developed with Duke University. The opinion survey enables the firm to address our clients’ susceptibility to union organizing and to isolate and effectively address
the issues that create union organizing campaigns. 

Prior to joining Millisor & Nobil in 1997, Melanie worked in human resources management for seven years. Melanie received her undergraduate degree in Management and Labor Relations cum laude from Cleveland State University and her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Ohio, the Labor and Employment Section of the Cleveland Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Melanie served as President of the Board of Project: LEARN and is actively involved with several non-profit organizations in the Cleveland area.
