August Sentiment Drop Indicating Possible End of Year Slowdown
In August 2025, the PMPA Business Trends Sales Index fell 10 points (6.3%) from July to 158. The sales number is a good number for August falling just below the five year average, down 4.4 points (2.9%). Sentiment fell sharply in August with all four indicators dropping. Sales and profits took the biggest tumble pointing to a possible slowdown at the end of this year.
