Chairman's Note

A note from Rich Nast...

Tomorrow is Today – Conquering the Skills Challenge

As Chairman of the 2018 Technical Program Committee, I am pleased to introduce to you a program focused on our continued quest to conquer the skills challenge in our industry. The content of this conference is targeted to a cross-section of talent and machining capabilities used in precision machining shops.

Over 30 training and networking sessions have been defined with speakers ranging from shop floor experts to professional presenters. Review the write-ups for each session and note how we identified the session ‘track’ focus for Technical, Quality, and Management personnel. Some sessions will have a ‘basic’ focus and others will be designated as ‘advanced.’  Be sure to note this when reviewing the session’s content.  Additionally, many of our speakers will create a brief video to inform as to what you will see in their session. As these become available, we will post on this site.

We expect a record number of Technical Members to exhibit the latest technology, including tools, handouts, videos of larger equipment, and live software demonstrations. This is a great opportunity for your people to connect with your suppliers' top technical people on a personal basis. This early evening session will be enhanced with food and drink options as well as a raffle where attendees could win door prizes.

The National Technical Conference offers attendees the opportunity to brainstorm with a unique group of professionals who have the same equipment and have seen the same problems. The knowledge sharing that goes on at this conference is amazing. This event is about being among your peers and having the ability to open your thoughts and ideas to areas of our trade that you normally would not be exposed.

Please be sure to bring multiple attendees from your shop to take advantage of this wide range of programming.  I am looking forward to seeing you in Rosemont.
