OVERVIEW - Who Should Attend:
Four classes with 6 hours of targeted training for precision machining shop floor personnel.
1) Metal Cutting Technology Class. REM will kick off the conference by focusing on a part that could be produced by both past and present technology. This classroom set will provide the step by step considerations of what must be done to produce this part. The technical challenges and the unique process steps that need to be taken to be successful will be discussed.
2) Hands-on Floor Demonstration. The group will make the transition from the classroom to the shop floor where they will see the part discussed in the preceding class being machined. This hands-on interactive review will provide the opportunity to see the layout executed and offers the perfect time for real-world questions and answers.
3) Print Discussion. Attendees will be given a print to start the session. The objective of the session will be to identify and discuss the challenges of the part and the many ways to consider those challenges from an engineering, operator, and quality standpoint. The focus will not be on how quickly the part can be produced, but rather on the risk assessment that must be taken into account for successful production.
4) How To Read Certs. Test reports and certifications vary by supplier, but all share common elements. This session will provide the means to understand the terminology on material certifications. The session will walk you through the Tips and Tricks of quickly reading a certification so you can better understand the challenges before a tool touches the material.
