Greg Hartman and Flawio Pelosato, LMT-Tools (Fette) will provide both a design overview and a practical troubleshooting review on thread rolling with a “how to make it work” approach. The design discussion will include how material selection and properties, blank design, tooling, feeds & speeds, and gaging all impact successful fabrication of rolled threads. Additionally, they will cover new products developed for thread rolling lead-free brass. The troubleshooting review will begin with defining common problems, share causes, and walk you through the process of finding solutions.

Brian Lieving, Horn USA, covers the basics of thread milling – single point threadmills versus multiple point threadmills, as well as advantages over tapping. He will also discuss whirling basics – single point versus whirling and what is needed to design whirling tools.

Our host, Technical Equipment, Cincinnati, OH, will be conducting live cutting demos of the above threading techniques.
