Come join us for this local PMPA event that will include networking, a thorough discussion about the Workforce Development issues we all face, and a tour of a world class metals service center at Yarde Metals’ Southington headquarters. The evening will begin with a general meet and greet and a welcome address from our Yarde Metals hosts.

Speakers

Bernie Nagle, PMPA’s Executive Director, will bring attendees up to date on the latest on industry trends and key association initiatives that are designed to make this industry adapt and thrive.

Mike Reader, PMPA’s first VP and Owner/General Manager of Precision Plus, out of Elkhorn Wisconsin, will share the history of Precision Plus from their beginnings up to present day. Precision Plus is a champion of manufacturing and continues to be a leader in educating the next generation on opportunities in the precision machining industry. Mike will share his company’s efforts and strategies in building partnerships with high schools, technical schools, and colleges.

Sterling Gill, PMPA’s Workforce Development Manager will brief the group on the state of the manufacturing skills gap and introduce PMPA’s new on-line training program available to PMPA members.

Yarde Metals will complete the day by providing a tour of their world class plant, demonstrating their multi-metal inventory that specializes in aluminum, stainless, carbon steel, and brass in a wide range of standard and hard to find sizes. Yarde will demonstrate a variety of modern processing services that are designed to ensure quick turnarounds and fast deliveries.
