Supplier company representatives will be available for three hours at the Connecticut PMPA Chapter Suppliers Night.
Prior to the opening of the exhibit tables, Miles Free, PMPA’s Director of Technology and Industry Research, as well as representatives from New England Tool Corp and FANUC America Corporation will make presentations.
Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist - Machinists understand that different materials machine differently. In this session Miles Free will offer attendees a basic review of the metallurgical factors, including chemistry, microstructure, processing, and thermal treatments that influence machining performance in our shops.
Robotics and Automation in Manufacturing - This presentation by Ziggy Tomic and CJ Bienia of New England Tool Corp, and Ed Rooney of FANUC America Corporation will introduce the basic concepts, practices and applications of robotics in manufacturing. A basic overview of various types and styles of robots will be discussed. In addition, current processes normally completed via manual labor will be examined to show how the introduction of robotics and automation can help companies gain a competitive advantage.
