Learn about the history of the AWT RoboBots tournament at Lakeland Community College, it started with 10 teams, now over 30!, the relationship with the National Robotics League, and how local shops work with a team from a nearby high school to build and repair their robot. The presentation will be followed by Q&A and then “play time” with actual combat robots.

Join host Roger Sustar, owner of Fredon Corporation and founder of a group called the AWT – Alliance for Working Together, who will speak about the National Robotics League program. In 2010, AWT launched a unique hands-on program for high school students, the RoboBot competition, where the winner represents Northeast Ohio in the National competition.

Representatives from currently participating schools and shops will add first-hand information about the value of the tournament and how it is an effective gateway for high school aged students into learning skill sets needed in our industry.
