SPEAKER:
Miles Free, PMPA Director of Industry Research & Technology

Regulatory overload may provide job security to our speaker, but it is a factor that increases the risk each of our small businesses face on a daily basis.

PMPA's Director of Industry Research and Technology, Miles Free, will walk us through our current “threat matrix” of regulatory issues we face here in Ohio from both state and federal regulators, as well as show you the PMPA resources that are available to help you minimize the time and energy you use to eliminate these risks.

The presentation will be focused on Environmental and Occupational Safety concerns, starting with OHIO’s new Stormwater rule and what it means to you. A review of US EPA TRI Section 313 Reporting, and then a look at the OSHA current emphasis and the dozen 2013 Spring Regulatory Agenda items that are upcoming. Plus, a few slides about best and “not so best” practices on shop housekeeping and safety.

We will not get into Affordable Care Act at this meeting.

Nobody wakes up in the morning and says, “Oh goody, I get to go listen to somebody talk about regulations that affect my business today.” But maybe in a day or so, attendees will be able to say, ”Boy, I’m glad I found out about this area of enforcement before the enforcement people arrived.”

Who Should Attend:

This session is recommended for managers, HR and compliance personnel, engineers, foremen, supervisors and leadmen. Hourly members of plant safety committees will find good material as well. The program will be focused on informing attendees of the regulation/issue and then where you can find what you need to make this go away.

Cancellation and Other Policies:

Refunds will be made for cancellations made 72 hours prior to the date of the meeting. Otherwise, substitutions are encouraged.
