The PMPA Business Trends Sales Index registered a 129 for May, down 5.1percent from last month’s 136. This was the second consecutive month low from the record of 152 in March, but still 6.1 percent above the five year average for May. All sentiment indicators for the next three months were high, while projected lead time reached its highest value ever with 96 percent of responding shops expecting leadtimes to remain the same or lengthen in the next three months.
