The concept behind the Management Update Conference is to "update" the audience on issues of concern to owners and managers of small and mid-size metalworking companies. Program topics and speakers are selected by the Management Update Committee, comprised of company owners and top managers.

PLEASE NOTE THE PROGRAM PATTERN CHANGE FOR THE 2018 CONFERENCE: The conference will open with a Welcome Networking Reception on Thursday evening. Business Sessions will run all day Friday and Saturday (8:00 am-5:00 p.m.), culminating with a closing reception on Saturday evening. The program adjustment allows for individuals to depart on Sunday morning....or stay another day and enjoy all that San Diego has to offer!

Group meals and receptions are included on the program to further the naturally occurring networking and sharing of information which is a hallmark of PMPA members.

Two full days of business sessions and breakouts; evening receptions; two group breakfasts, and two group lunches.

Who Should Attend:

Programming for the 2018 Conference will focus on three core management functions of your business. This "track programming" will highlight progressive programming for Business Management, Operations Management, and Sales and Marketing. Bring representatives from all these departments to get the most bang for your buck!

Cancellation and Other Policies:

Conference registration fees will be refunded in full if cancellations are received at PMPA by 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018. Fees for cancellations after February 23rd cannot be refunded, but substitutions will be accepted.

Travel Information:

The San Diego Marriott Marquis is a 4-star hotel overlooking its own private marina and San Diego Bay. It is situated on the edge of the city’s trendy Gaslamp Quarter, within walking distance to Seaport Village, PETCO Park and the Trolley line. The San Diego Zoo is a 15-minute drive and SeaWorld® 5 minutes more.

There are four restaurants on property, three outdoor pools, a fitness center and full service spa.

The Marriott Marquis San Diego is just 3 miles from the San Diego International Airport. All major car rental companies operate out of the airport, and taxis, UBERS and shuttles are available to and from the hotel.

Overnight self-parking is discounted for PMPA guests - $25.00 per day. Valet parking is $47.00, plus in and out priveleges.
